Where You Are Is Exactly Where You’re Supposed To Be

Sometimes it’s hard to say to myself, other moments it’s easier, but I have to say it, I have to write it down. For you, and for myself. For my younger self, my older self, but most of all for the self I am at this very moment.

I’m right where I’m supposed to be at this moment.

When I look back, I can see the long road I already went, how much I’ve grown in so many different ways. How much I’ve learned about myself, about the world. How many skills I possess now that I didn’t have before. The many things I did that seemed impossible to me a few years ago. The amazing people I’ve encountered. How I’m starting to be more independent, more solid.

When I look ahead, I see an undefined path with almost infinite possibilites. Many insecurities, but also chances to learn and to experience.

Where this journey ends? I don’t really care too much about it. The important thing is that I’m living it. The important thing is that I’m moving, I’m in the midst of everything. Every experience is a lesson, and gives an opportunities to learn. We get the chance every day to understand ourselves and the world a little bit more. To dance, to laugh and to hide in the corners of our own souls.

And it’s true what they say: it’s all about the journey, not the destination.

Sometimes, it’s just a very good thing to stand still for a while, becoming aware of the point you’re at right now. So that’s what I do. I take a good look around, both behind and in front of me, but especially I try to see where I am right now at this very moment. I feel strong, however small I am at the same time. I feel happy, although there are enough moments of frustration or sadness. I feel alive, above all, and that’s the best feeling there is.

I wish everyone would do that from time to time. Just stop for a moment and realize that you’re in the middle of your journey, that you’ve conquered a lot of obstacles along the way and that you’ve got many directions to go to in the future. Don’t demand of yourself that you can do everything you want to do in the future in this moment already. What would be the fun of it? Appreciate the process. And enjoy everything that you’ve already got.
