When You’re Running Out Of Reasons To Be Thankful, Be Thankful For This

By

Let’s just be thankful for at least one thing in life since we can’t be thankful for everything.

Have you ever felt thankful for being the only child in the family? Where you’d be able to get all the love, all the attention. Or have you ever felt thankful for having siblings? Where you’d never feel alone, where you’d have your sisters or brothers to be with you. Have you ever felt thankful for being that child to always get what you want? That one child who always get away when in trouble. That one child who knows how to take care of themselves. That one child who helps the parents. That one child who never causes any trouble. That one child who knows the difference between right and wrong. That one child who never does bad things behind their parents’ back. That one child whom everyone is proud of. Or are you thankful that no one is having high expectations from you?

Have you ever felt thankful for having a wealthy family? Where you’d be able to get whatever you want, where you’d never experience hardships in life. Or have you ever felt thankful for having just an average family? Where you’d know how it feels to not get everything you want, where you’d know how it feels to work hard in order for you to earn something. Have you ever felt thankful for being born in a family developed on a strong religious view? Or a family who forbids corruption? Or a family who would never disown you? Or most important, have you ever felt thankful for having a family at all? Or having at least a mother, or a father? Or are you thankful for not having parents, where you won’t hurt their feelings, where you won’t embarrass them when you fail in life?

Have you ever felt thankful for having great friends who would never leave you? Have you ever felt thankful for being that one friend who never gets left behind? Have you ever felt thankful that all your friends think you’re important? Or are you thankful for not being that one friend whom everyone wants to be around with? Where you’d be able to have time for yourself, where you wouldn’t need to worry about pleasing anyone? Are you thankful that your friends never forget you? Or are you thankful that you’re that one friend who never gets hard feelings when you’re forgotten? Are you thankful that your friends have given extra meaning to your life or are you thankful that your friends are not your main priority?

Have you ever felt thankful that you’re a smart student? Have you ever felt thankful for never flunking? Have you ever felt thankful for never being stressed out over the littlest things? Have you ever felt thankful for having such a tough soul that no tough education system could ever break you? Have you ever felt thankful for always being on top? Have you ever felt thankful that despite all the craziness, you survived? Have you ever felt thankful that you even had the chance to learn?

Have you ever felt thankful for having those beliefs? Have you ever felt thankful for being raised in the right religion? Have you ever felt thankful that you’re a free thinker, where you’re not bind to any higher power? Have you ever felt thankful that whenever an issue arises, your faith is not shaken? Have you felt thankful that you’re a firm believer? Have you ever felt thankful that God has given you that intangible faith, where you’d never be uncertain, where you’d never question, where you’d have it in your heart that you should just believe. Or are you thankful for not believing at all?

Have you ever felt thankful for being that one person who knows everything? Or have you ever felt thankful for being a wallflower? Have you ever felt thankful that you’re calm as a clam, or are you thankful for not needing to hide behind your emotions? Have you ever felt thankful that you’re patient? Have you ever felt thankful that you’re not crazy? Have you ever felt thankful that you’d always stay away from committing sins, have you ever felt thankful for having this strong resistance toward temptations? Have you ever felt thankful that you could even differentiate between right and wrong? Or are you thankful that you were born as an ignorant?

It’s crazy how we tend to always seek for that missing piece in our lives and yet we have no clue what’s missing. Are you any of the above? I might be one, or some, but definitely not all. It’s crazy how people tend to think that we are facing the same battle when the truth is, we all have different ways of living and different fights to face.
