When Life Gets Hard, I Think Of You

I want to be enough for you.

Life has been hard for us lately, but we are striving. The universe has been throwing us curveball after curveball after curveball, but we are trying to not let things get to us. It’s difficult but doable. The hurdles we face challenges our will to keep going. To keep us going.

Sometimes it feels like I want to give up, that it is all becoming too much. But then I think of you and of how much I want to be worthy of being by your side. To be with you every step of the way for the rest of our lives. To be there for you through all the ups and downs. To hold your hand, swinging, as we get past it all with love-sick smiles on our faces. To tell the universe that we did it. That we caught every curveball and threw it right back at them.

You’ve grounded me and kept me on track. You taught me things that only you could have. Being with you has changed my perspective. Our time together has taught me to cherish every moment, savor every touch, every kiss. I’ll never take you and your love for granted. You’ve made me the happiest I’ve been for the past five years. Your patience is remarkable. No matter how much I mess up, you are always there to help me clean it all. You make me want to be better. Not just for you, but for me.

I hope you never stop fighting for us. That you never give up on us no matter how hard things get, no matter how tiring it may seem. Because I never will. You are my present and my future. I know that it will all be worth it in the end. Things will get better. We will be better. And we will be enough for each other.

I love you—with all my broken pieces, my mended pieces, and the pieces that you are healing—to the Death Star and back.
